The Static PageI've been mulling this idea around for a week or so. I had intended to do it last week, actually, but other things happened and it got put off. And then certain things happened which made this seem like more of a good idea than a bad one.
One of the side-effects of this type of community, being generally web-based and all, is that we usually never see each other or hear each other. The first has mostly been taken care of by EZboard's personal photos, but the second has not. Well, I've recorded a short audio message for you all to enjoy. It's not very long, in mono and fairly aggressively encoded so it's only 100K. Go on. You know you want to!
...
Okay, now you've heard it, yes, IWETHEY is just over a year old. Actually, I think I'm a few weeks late, but what the heck. I think celebrations are in order. However, I'm a bit hesitant to suggest looking back. This is partly because I had us do that not so long ago and partly because it seems so cliched to do it. And at the same time I'm not sure I want to think about the future, either, because that will invariably develop into a comparison of web-forum software. No, I think the here and now is probably a better subject for now. If it has to, we can use that to springboard into more lofty goals for the future and to reminisce through rose-coloured glasses about the good times.
So don't you think it's amazing that we're still here and still (largely) together after a year? :-) Perhaps you could put some brief thoughts into an mp3 file for us all to hear. (I personally just wish it were easier for me to visit people in person!)
